Fourth element

PADI LOVES fourth element Ocean Positive Swimwear for their unwavering commitment to the issues facing our
oceans, providing much-needed leadership by example. With every Ocean Positive product made from
ECONYL®, abandoned ‘ghost’ fishing nets and other discarded waste are removed from our oceans – giving new
life to part of the 1.4 billion pounds of trash per year entering the seas. Being ‘Ocean Positive’ spans from not just
what we do in the ocean but also what we do in our everyday lives. Made from 78% recycled materials, each
piece of swimwear comes packaged in non-plastic bags made from cassava starch and other renewable
resources, it biodegrades in months and is safe if consumed by animals.

Approximately 1.4 billion pounds of trash enters our seas per year. Dumped into our oceans daily, this threatens marine life, pollutes beaches and affects local tourism industries. In several parts of the world, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Baltic Sea, depletion of oxygen in the water has created enormous dead zones.

For scuba divers, snorkelers and many other water sport enthusiasts, the ocean is a place of beauty and we must fight to help it survive the impact of human activity. At fourth element, we take small steps every day to not only improve our products but to consider the environmental impact of everything we manufacture.

Working with organizations such as World Animal Protection, Global Ghost Gear Initiative (GGGI) and Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust in supporting Fathoms Free, our enthusiastic team of wildlife lovers and keen divers regularly help with activities such as beach clean-ups and ghost fishing net retrieval..
